WellCare of North Carolina (WellCare) has a commitment to ensure, through deep engagement with our members, providers, and government partners, that every WellCare of North Carolina member receives high-quality healthcare and has access to resources that help them live fuller, healthier lives.

WellCare has been dedicated to serving families, children, seniors, and individuals with complex medical needs. We partner with healthcare providers to develop and deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare solutions through Medicaid, Medicare.

WellCare Medicaid is the second-largest Medicaid health plan in North Carolina, providing health coverage to over 450,000 residents, including eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities.

Our Wellcare of North Carolina (Wellcare) Medicare plans offer health coverage for individuals aged 65 and older, as well as younger individuals with disabilities, and North Carolina residents with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, also known as ESRD).

WellCare of North Carolina by Celtic Insurance Company is available through The Health Insurance Marketplace, with government subsidies available for qualifying individuals. We provide the necessary benefits and tools to empower our members to take charge of their health.
