Getting Started with the Member Advisory Committees

The Member Advisory Committee (MAC) and the LTSS Member Advisory Committee (LTSS MAC) provide an opportunity for members and/or their representatives to use their voice to improve the way member receive Medicaid. Committee members meet and network with other people who are excited about improving healthcare and help WellCare of North Carolina (WellCare) solve challenges and create solutions to everyday healthcare problems.

What You Need to Know

The committee is free to join, interested members must be committed to improving healthcare in North Carolina.
Meetings occur quarterly in the Medicaid Region in which the Committee is serving.
Members can participate in meetings in person, by video, or by phone.
Committee members will provide guidance on the best days and times to meet, including after business hours options.
Translation services will be available, as needed, for committee members during meetings.
WellCare offers gift cards for attending quarterly meetings for up to $75 per year, Members must be eligible for gift card. Members are able to decline gift cards and are encouraged to attend all meetings.

What topics covered during meetings?
- We talk about important updates, benefits information, member experiences, community resources, and much more! Members decide what we discuss each quarter.
When is the next meeting?
- Meetings happen quarterly (March, June, September, December). Your WellCare team will update you on chosen times and dates.
Is there any follow-up?
- A survey will be sent at the end of the quarter.
How do I recieve the gift card?
- Gift cards will be mailed out after confirmation of mailing address with WellCare team member during the post meeting survey..
