The State of North Carolina to Expand Medicaid Effective December 1, 2023
The State of North Carolina will be expanding Medicaid to members ages 19-64 who have incomes up to 138% of the Federal Poverty Level. With this expansion, more than 600,000 North Carolinians will gain access to both physical and mental health coverage starting December 1, 2023.
As a participating provider currently contracted with WellCare to service our Medicaid membership, you are eligible to service these members with no action required on your part. Eligible members in the expanded population will receive the same benefits as current Medicaid members.
